Bank Job, Going for Gold
Bank Job, Going for Gold fruit machine player guide.
Stake: 25p, 50p, £1
Bank Job, Going for Gold is the latest in the theme of the original Bank Job and Jewel in the Crown type games.
This is basically a graphically enhanced version of its original cousin, with no major upgrades or feature changes.
There are a few helpful additions, and a couple of annoying upgrades that have slightly changed the style of game play.

Gold Bars:
Gold bars on the outer two win-lines award a £1 win per gold bar. You can't do anything with it, it just collects and goes straight in to your bank. It's probably the most annoying of the forced prize 'features' from any machine. It sets the machine back from offering anything worthwhile and can offer a succession of these automatically collected wins.
The most that can be auto-collected is £4. £1 for each of the reels, plus a 'bonus' of doubling the win when the reels turn red (further down).

Another upgrade from it's cousin is the reels turning red. This is fairly common on many Deal or No Deal machines, and is often a good sign that the machines are ready to pay.
This on the other hand, doesn't actually do anything worthwhile.
A few of the features are upgraded on feature entry, and the value of the gold bars on the win-lines are doubled! Aside from that, nothing else changes. The numbers for the feature entry, and the reel wins remain unchanged, and the reels turn red frequently.

Gold Safe:
On the third reel, the winning symbol for the £25 win is outlined in red. If it lands on the win-line, feature entry is upgraded to super. If it lands again it is upgraded to mega. The upgrade stays until a win or feature entry is awarded. Feature Entry: Entry to the feature is awarded from completing the number trail by more than 8 numbers, or any reel wins. There is a bonus on position 4 to help with feature entry. This has all the usual bonuses, including super skill stop for an easy jackpot. The gamble for the feature is either a win or lose. So unlike the original Bank Job, on this one if you lose the gamble it will lose to position 8, not a cash value. This is from any cash win and is good if you don't want to be forced to collect small wins constantly, and allows for the machine to be played on £1 stake without the continued annoyance of being forced to collect unwanted prizes. There is no guaranteed feature entry from two or three holds on position 8, so you can be there a while, burning off credits! The top prize is Bank Job, which can be offered as a red upgraded feature. The minimum value of this is £70, up to an apparent maximum of £140. The game also has an obvious invincible mode where the games logo flashes constantly. Instead of Streak, Super Streak, and Mega Streak, Going for Gold has coins that upgrade the streak feature. You can collect these at any time, with the assumption that the more coins you get, the greater the value of the streak. The full amount of coins awarded me £21! |
Gold or Bust
Like cash or bust from Deal or No Deal. The Gold or Bust when pressed, will flash around the top Deal or No Deal type game and either offer a cash value or 'bust'.
The Deal or No Deal type game is accessed from feature entry or three or more dynamites. There is a normal, super, and mega version of the game. Each level eliminates the lower values.
